Rev. James Bryner Chu
James was born and raised in the urban jungles of Manila. He studied at Xavier School from nursery to high school. Then earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at the De La Salle University in 2004. After working in the corporate world for a couple of years, James decided to pursue pastoral ministry and graduated with a Master of Divinity in Biblical Studies from the Biblical Seminary of the Philippines in May 2011. That same month, he was commissioned by the United Evangelical Church of the Philippines to plant a church in Katipunan, Quezon City. In the summer of 2012, James underwent an intensive training under Redeemer City to City Asia, an international church planting network of Tim Keller’s Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York. James recently got ordained as a teaching elder under the British Presbytery of the International Presbyterian Church.
James loves to read and to converse with people about diverse subject matters. He is devoted to Jesus Christ and passionate about raising up generations of godly Christians who would love, treasure, and proclaim Christ in their respective vocations.
James is married to Keren, and they are blessed with two children.
